Advances in cancer therapies have increased the number of individuals living with or beyond cancer. However, there has also been an increase in the number of individuals presenting with long-term supportive care needs and healthcare services dependency as a result of past treatment. An ageing cancer population and the fact that many cancer patients present at diagnosis with either another existing condition(s) e.g. heart problems, diabetes or a risk of developing a condition e.g. they are a smoker or are obese compound this issue further.

With the socio-economic cost of poor clinical outcomes and long-term healthcare service reliance by the cancer population being of global concern, governments and regulatory bodies are now imposing industry-wide outcomes data collection standards. However poorly integrated clinical data systems means the correlation of up-to-date data on an individual’s current state of health, disease risk profile at diagnosis, treatment data and patient self-reported outcomes, predictive and proactive healthcare practices become challenging. Furthermore, research, technology design, medicines adherence and patient support programmes remain ill informed.

Our Product
To combat these issues Intacare, together with our academic research and health technology partners have developed the INTACARE RM™ a Cancer Survivorship Clinical Outcomes and Long-term Risk Register toolkit, designed to be hosted within third-party oncology-related software systems, for the retrospective, real-time, and longitudinal (predictive) risk assessment of individuals’ living with or beyond cancer.
